Yichun Chen, LSW
Licensed Social Worker
I specialize in working with folks who are navigating multiple identities, holding worries and anxieties, and hoping to break the cycles of intergenerational trauma. As a first-generation immigrant, I understand the challenges of feeling “in-between," balancing different expectations, meanings, and ways of belonging. Finding a therapist can feel especially difficult when navigating cultural stigmas around mental health. I believe trust is earned and that healing happens in relationships when we feel safe, supported, and seen.
You might be feeling numb or stuck in carrying the weight of past experiences, life transitions, and competing expectations. You don't have to shoulder it all alone. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where we can slow down, tune into the present moment, expand our ways of coping, and reconnect with yourself.
My approach integrates client-centered therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and trauma informed practices. With your permission, I hope to collaborate with you in exploring different parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion; attuning to your nervous system, reconnecting with the present moment, and aligning your path with what feels most meaningful to you. Together, we can also make sense of the broader social contexts that have shaped your experiences.
