Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy

I am a first-generation Korean-American who grew up between Seoul and New Jersey. After graduating from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Psychology and East Asian Studies, I moved to Asia to build a career in the corporate world, with residencies in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur over fourteen years. I then returned to the U.S. to pursue a second career, earning a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University.

I strongly believe that we are all connected and influenced by our interpersonal relationships, family, community, and culture. This idea of connectedness extends to the relationship with my clients, where I offer a non-judgmental, authentic, and straightforward approach. I am a strengths-focused clinician, meaning I believe my clients already possess the power to change their lives. I closely collaborate with my clients to understand the unconscious patterns and belief systems that have been holding them back. This approach lends itself well to adolescents and adults of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and of course, relationships, as well as couples and families who find themselves stuck in counterproductive cycles.

I offer individual therapy to adolescents and adults, couples therapy and family therapy in both English and Korean.
