Laurel Di An Dahlgren Ardini, LPC, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor
I received my bachelor’s degree in English from a small college in Upstate New York, before attending Boston University School of Medicine for my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine.
Much of my experience is in both hospital and PHP/IOP settings, supporting clients and their families as they navigate mental health crises, community violence, substance use, and general mood and anxiety disorders.
Currently, I work at SHFT Behavioral Health in River North, Chicago’s first urgent care for mental health. Here, I get the best of both worlds; I provide crisis stabilization, while also carrying an outpatient therapy caseload. In therapy, I aim to create a space that feels collaborative, grounded, and safe. My integrative approach draws from CBT, DBT, and ACT and I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. As a Chinese American woman, I am committed to providing culturally responsive, anti-racist care where clients feel seen, respected, and supported in bringing their authentic selves into the room.
