
Abbas Chinoy, MDiv, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social WorkerAbbas is a first-generation, South Asian American and a life long Chicagoan. Before becoming a psychotherapist, Abbas worked as a spiritual caregiver in hospital and hospice settings including Rush University Medical Center and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Abbas has over 15 years of experience on clinical, interdisciplinary teams. With Masters degrees in Divinity and Social Work from the University of Chicago and a certificate in health administration and policy (GPHAP), Abbas offers unique insights, curiosity, and a compassionate presence.
Abbas is the owner of Very Very Mentorship PLLC, a private practice that provides clients with evidence-based care and offers clinical supervision. Additionally, Abbas is a member of Dr. Paul Holmes' team at EMP, LLC where he helps train and educate rising professionals and seasoned practitioners in the field in contextual behavioral therapies. This Spring, Abbas will co-teach Motivational Interviewing at The University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.
Out of the office, Abbas loves anything to do with space and sci-fi, dogs, and coffee.
