Abbas Chinoy, MDiv, LCSW

Abbas is a first-generation, South Asian American and a lifelong Chicagoan who offers unique insights, curiosity, and a compassionate presence.

Before becoming a therapist and healthcare consultant, Abbas worked as a spiritual caregiver in hospital and hospice settings including Rush University Medical Center and Lurie Children's Hospital. Abbas has nearly two decades of experience in healthcare.

Abbas holds Master's degrees in Divinity and Social Work from the University of Chicago, along with certificates in Health Administration and Policy (GPHAP) and Trauma-Informed Care. He is a PEERS® Certified Provider for Young Adults, recently completed Fluence's Foundations of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy training, and is a candidate in the Sokolov Executive MBA program at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.

Abbas owns Very Very Mentorship PLLC, a private practice that sustains the vibrancy of emerging and existing leadership with insights from behavioral science. Abbas works with leaders and the high-impact teams they lead, particularly in demanding environments like executive leadership, emergency response, and healthcare, to build the personal resilience that protects team performance.

Additionally, Abbas mentors students through the CASE Mentorship Program at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. He serves on the Board of Directors at KEEN USA, supporting their mission to empower disabled youth.

Out of the office, Abbas loves anything to do with space and sci-fi, dogs, and helping his indoor plants thrive.
